Hair Loss… Now What??
It's common for many questions to arise when you find out you may lose your hair. When will I start to lose my hair? Should I purchase a wig? When? Human or synthetic? What color should it be? How much will it cost? What style? Are they comfortable and easy to care for? Will I have to sit out in public when I try it on? Will I lose my lashes? Where do I begin?
At Salon Tii Gavo we can assist you in finding the right answers to these questions. We pride ourselves in helping women who are experiencing hair loss as a result of chemotherapy, alopecia, thyroid disorders or medical treatments.
We do not sell wigs online. We believe this is a very personal process. At your first consultation we will cover all the aspects of selecting the best wig for YOU – one that is comfortable and has a natural look, because it will be shaped and styled to your needs.
Above all, we are committed to be your journey companion. From diagnosis, throughout treatments and until your hair returns, we are available throughout this time.
We work out of the salon and in a private room. However, if necessary we also make hospital calls for our clients. Hours are by appointment.

Wigs…When? The Process
Are you going through Chemotherapy or is your hair loss natural or from some other medical reason? If you are going through chemotherapy then finding the positive resolution becomes a more time sensitive issue.
Once you have started your treatment, you have between 17-21 days before your hair begins to release. That is why seeing you is so important. It is optimal for us to set the initial consult before you begin losing your hair. This gives us a chance to see your length and match your color and density. If you have already experienced your hair releasing we can work with a photo to determine what is needed.
When your hair begins to release or slightly before we can make an appointment to take your hair down. (This depends on how you are feeling) By this time we will have made our choice together and you will be fitted, sized and styled. We generally allow 1 ½ hours for this appointment. This way you can walk out feeling AMAZING!!

The scalloped from is tied for low density, and very natural looking hairline, this allows you to style the wig off the face if you choose.
FAQs
What color should I choose?
Choose a color that is close to your natural color. If hair loss is a possibility in the future, save a swatch of your own for a match. You can always go a shade lighter than your own hair, but avoid going darker. Our wig line has a wide range of salon inspired colors so you should be able to easily find the shade that is right for you.
Will I have to sit out in public when I try on a wig?
Our staff is completely sensitive to your needs. We have a completely private room dedicated to your needs. So NO, you will not have to sit out in public here! In addition, we can help you select a style and color that's right for you, demonstrate how to put on a wig and instruct you in easy wig care methods.
Isn't a wig uncomfortable?
In the 1960's YES! Wigs were made with solid caps they were definitely hot and sticky. In the 70's wigs went capless which allowed the scalp to breath. Now in the 2000's the cap has been replaced with a wide stretch lace used inside most wigs today. The wigs of today are a thinner, more resilient stretch material that actually molds to your head with a light more secure fit.
How much will it cost?
The belief that all wigs are expensive is simply untrue. Wigs, like any piece of apparel, vary in price depending on the materials and craftsmanship. They can cost as little as $100 or more than $800. Some insurance companies allow you to claim your wig. Ask your doctor to write a prescription for a "hair prosthesis" and ask your wig professional to state the same on the sales receipt.
What is your face shape?
Diamond
Reduce width at Sides – The Diamond Shaped Face is characterized by a narrow chin and forehead with wide cheekbones. Diamond shaped faces need narrow sides and fullness at the chin. Bobs work very well for this shape. Avoid wearing height on the top or volume on the sides. Use some narrow fringe or band to cover narrow forehead.
Add Volume at the Chin
The Heart Shaped Face is characterized by a wider forehead often with a widow's peak and a narrower chin. Bring some hair close to the head at the eyes but make it slightly full around the jaw, and below and in front of the earlobes.
Oblong
Add Softness – The Oblong Shaped Face is characterized by a very long narrow bone structure. The client who has an oblong facial shape often has a long thin neck. Use a fringe or half bang across the forehead by creating soft waves or curls in the crown and nape areas. This helps to create the illusion of an oval.
Oval
As the name implies, the Oval Shaped Face is longer than wide, with a jaw that's narrower than the cheekbones. Because the oval shaped face has no dominant areas and is so proportional this face looks good with just about any hairstyle, length and texture.
Pear
Add Volume Above Jaw Line – The Pear Shaped Face is characterized by a small or narrow forehead and a rather large, pouchy-appearing jaw line. Comb hair to add width from the eye level through the crown of the head. Set and comb hair close to the head on the sides and at the nape.
Round
Avoid Width – The Round Shaped Face is characterized by a wide hairline and fullness below the cheekbones. The client may be overweight and her neck may appear short. These faces look very good with geometric or linear style. Add height, when possible and long, wispy side areas to make the cheeks look narrow. Comb hair close to the head on the side and at the nape.
What about my lashes and brows?
